Temggorak Ocean

For centuries, the Temggorak ocean kept the people of Dae and Ancylo separated, unknowingly living out their convergent lives. Until finally the ocean was crossed, island by island, to bridge the two continents together.

Geography

While the oceans are inherently interconnected, Temggorak refers to the waters between Ancylo and Dae, up to the island of Hart. Compared to the other islands, which draw outwards away from the main continents, Temggorak has a strong southerly wind. This contributes to the difficulty of crossing between the continents. While a captain would ideally like to travel fairly straight east or west, they must instead hold a tight sail and inevitably be pushed ever further south on the waves and wind.

Ecosystem

The actual ecosystem of the ocean is largely unexplored. The dangerous creatures are well discussed, although not well known or understood. Sailors tell crazy stories: sea serpents when there has only ever been one dragon, sharks larger than a boat, octopus even bigger than those sharks, and occasionally a beautiful woman.   What truly lies beneath the dangerous waves, and whether it is more dangerous than the waves themselves, is a mystery that will take the people of Rhina centuries more to uncover. For now, it is a deadly expanse.

History

The ocean was finally conquered by Monier Hart in 1111, when the captain returned successful with the discovery of new land. He would return to the ocean a few years later and connect the two continents for the first time. Monier Hart, of course, tells the history for the people of Dae, and more specifically New Esland.
