Zaed

(a.k.a. The Red-Eyed Cobra)

Zaed is an ancient dark being, thought to look like a giant cobra with crimson-red eyes. His name is not known by many who are living. The name is more popular amongst the dead as many of them have been killed in the name of Zaed. It is rumoured that it was born a normal, small cobra. The only exception was its blood-red eyes, which sent any beast, attempting to attack it, far away, running as fast as it could, in fear of what the cobra could do to them. The cobra, after eating the man who had captured it, grew in size, that of a large dog. It went on and supposedly ate all of the residents of a town, from which it had grown to the size of an elephant. Zaed's most famed slaughter, though, was a dinosaur, which had been terrorizing a large town. Zaed ate the dinosaur whole and grew much larger after that. The residents of that town then began worshipping Zaed as their saviour and so the Faith of the Red-Eyed Cobra cult began.

Cult

Zaed, as the patron of the large cult which is the Faith of the Red-Eyed Cobra, gains power from its followers, although praying purely itself does almost nothing for Zaed's power. What Zaed needs from every follower is blood. The cobra is known to prefer the blood of great heroes and powerful beasts the most. Zaed also enjoys rage, either one that their followers feel when killing someone, or the rage of the one being killed. He's said rage-filled blood is the most refreshing although not the most nourishing.

Relations

Zaed has no allies, outside of his cult. He is too prideful and arrogant for such things. He does have many good-aligned enemies though. He also has a special distaste for fey deities and fey creatures since their blood is putrid to him. Zaed also has a special rival - Koin, the god of celebration, drugs and alcohol, as both beings have their largest followings located in Daglan, where their follows often clash.

Personality

Not many know of Zaed's personality as even his followers almost never get to meet him. The only exception are the Twelve Fangs who are most directly connected to Zaed and get to see and speak to him the most. To them, Zaed is a strict ruler who seeks for his orders to be done exactly as he demands. Surprisingly though, Zaed is not a very ruthless creature when it comes to making mistakes. He openly gives his followers many chances to redeem themselves and rewards them well, when they do succeed. The only and main times when Zaed is ruthless against his followers is when they openly rebel and disobey him. In these times he openly has them killed by oversurging them with power, often causing them to explode in a gory, yet colourful, magical mess. He does this to remind the fresher followers of where they stand and to remind them that he does indeed know what they're doing.
