Citadel of Clouds

I see a city of amber and rose, seated upon waves of clouds, with star-touched towers reaching towards the night sky.
Built on top of a great mountain, the moon fey built this city to be as close to the moon as possible, the city serves as a refuge to all moon fey, and acts as their seat of power.

Court of the Moon

The Court of the Moon is an organization headed by the lunar archfey. These archfey form a council with executive and judicial authority over the citizens of the Citadel of Clouds. Although the Court of the Moon's power is mostly limited to the Cloud Citadel and a few other territories, the individual archfey members command great power and respect outside of the court.   Besides its archfey leaders which form the Full Moon Court, the Court of the Moon has five other branches concerned with various parts of running the Citadel.   The Waxing Moon Court concerns itself with law and justice. Its members are also responsible over administrative duties, legislation and enforcement of the law. The Waning Moon Court is focused on maintenance of the city. This includes things from cleaning to infrastructure to repairs. This is the largest court within the Court of the Moon, its members often specializing in specific tasks. The Half Moon Court is concerned with diplomacy and trade with other kingdoms. Its members also work to keep track of the economy. The Crescent Moon Court is the court of war and defense. This is the smallest court as the Cloud Citadel is relatively isolated. A portion of its members often work with the Waxing Moon Court to enforce the law. Finally, the Court of the New Moon is the second largest court, tasked with archiving knowledge, preserving Moon Fey history, culture and arts, responsibility over education, and numerous other scholarly and academic endeavors.

The Star Touched Tower

At the top highest tower within the Citadel, a tower so high that people often call it the star-touched tower, lies the room where the Full Moon Court meet. The pale marble pillars lined with gold hold up a great painted dome with a hole at the top to let the starlight in. The floors are a crystalline deep blue that make clear melodic rings with each step you take. In the center of the room lies a round table with five seats circling it. This is the meeting place of the Full Moon Court, where they make decisions concerning the Citadel of Clouds.

The Lunar Library

The Lunar Library is a great archive containing almost all of the art, literature, culture, and history of the Old Moon Kingdoms that could be salvaged. Although it is not the tallest building within the Cloud Citadel, it is certainly the largest in terms of overall space. The library has five floors. The first two contain art, books, and artifacts that are up for public display and visitation. This part of the library essentially acts as a museum. The third floor acts as the library proper, with tens of thousands of books within its walls. This place also acts as an archive. The fourth floor acts as a workspace for both the librarians and members of the Court of the New Moon. Here people work as historians, archivists, translators, art restorers, archeologists, etc. These people here work to maintain the library and expand its available texts and knowledge. It also acts as an archive with many more books lining its walls, people can often ask the help of a librarian to access books on this floor. The fifth floor is only available to a select few members of the New Moon Court. It contains numerous important artifacts that are often sacred, dangerous or magical in nature. These artifacts are often too dangerous to be displayed publicly in the first and second floors.
"Impressive, eh? I don't think any library in the world could compare to ours... except for maybe the one in Somnus, but it isn't anywhere near as beautiful as ours, and presentation matters you know." - A Librarian of the Lunar Library

The New Moon Colleges

Under the care of the New Moon Court, many colleges were made. These were meant to house scholars and allow for the education and care of new academics and artists of numerous fields. Most of the colleges were small with less than a hundred scholars and students on its premises. Many of these schools merged together to form the New Moon Colleges. These colleges take up the most space in the Cloud Citadel, with many even being built outside of its borders.

Fascinating! I enjoyed the bit about the Citadel of Clouds' library. Do you have an article for the Moonfall that we could all read?
