Plumbumaic Osis

Plumbumaic Osis Tussis   Roughly translating to "Lead Mouth Cough".   This fungal condition has been widely unknown to the world in it's origin, as to where it came from and when it first was known to have appeared, but what is known is that, thankfully, it is a relatively easy disease to cure, and does not cause extreme pain to the infected individual.   The reason behind the name becomes obvious after a few days of being infected by the disease. The fungus attacks the skin inside the mouth primarily, and cannot be found anywhere else on the body, also making the disease easy to corner and to block from spreading across the rest of the body. When allowed to grow over the first few days, the infected person will first feel the onset of the disease in the form of hardened strips along the roof of their mouth, often curved in shape along the roof, although sometimes they can form in straight lines, which is the more uncomfortable version of the growths. The disease was also named after the material it resembles once these growths have fully grown inside the mouth. They resemble sticks of pencil led that are between 0.5mm and 0.9mm thick, and only a few centimeters long.   These same growths can also penetrate vertically into the mouth, which would lead the infected to have to pull them out of their mouth, which is known to cause obvious discomfort and slight bleeding, which can be stopped with gauze and other preventatives with no further issues.   This disease only ceases to cause these growths when the medicine used to fight it succeeds in destroying the fungus that inhabits the mouth and feeds off of common nutrients to create the led-esque sticks inside the mouth. A common side effect to this disease is a dry mouth, and drinking water throughout the treatment process is encouraged, especially cold water with ice which is thought to aid in breaking down the fungus.    A common medicine used to combat the fungus is called Pralitate, otherwise seen in imaging as Pralit-8. This medicine is infused with safe amounts of the same chemicals used in toothpaste and vinegar. This medicine is most common in liquid form, and is swashed in the mouth before being expelled into a cup or sink, meaning it is advised to be near a sink or bathroom when taking the medications.   The disease can be cured within roughly two weeks of infecting the individual, although there have been cases lasting as long as four to five weeks before being removed from the body. It is not common to receive the disease more than once in an individual's lifetime, but cases have been known to come up, contributing to the shortened lifespan of those individuals by a span of roughly a few years to even as short as a few months.    It is unknown where this fungus originated, or how it spreads, and even in modern day the source and origin is still being searched for by scientists and doctors from around the world.
