Torsend Channel
The Torsend Channel is the body of water that completely splits the supercontinent of Tamlron into two halfs: Braecelan and Eclelon. It was formed from the incredulous amount of energy released during the Shattering. Its formation lowered the sea level of the entire planet by a measurable amount (if I am ever insane enough to calculate this, take the area of the entire channel and its offshoots and figure how much water it is then figure out how much water was already in the seas guess?? (probs the avg depth of like the indian ocean)).
It is characterized by its hourglass like shape and its offshoots that penetrate the mainlands for hundreds of miles. As of the Return, its waters are practically abuzz with ancient magic and is home to many dangerous creatures found nowhere else. This is seen nowhere better than the waters lapping around the Torsend Isles, where nautical travel is basically suicide. A common rule of sailors is that the closer one gets to Castle Crunin, the less one values their life.
The channel is named after Stammon Torsend, the first ship captain to navigate through its entire length- that is, from Sea Chobagne to Sea Sintara- in one journey. The ship that it was done on- the Dancing Sailfish- made the trip through the Bones of Oeyr encircling Crunin a most respectable feat (since it was done before safer routes were established). The ship, now decommisioned, is permanently stationed in the town of Whitedocks in Threelakes, serving as a museum of sorts.
