Darkvision Revamped

All races, excluding those with sunlight sensitivity, no longer have dark vision. If you choose to play a race that originally had dark vision please feel free to consult me to have a replacement feature.

Gritty realism Lite

  • Long rests take 5 days(half a week). Short rests take 8 hours.
  • Some class abilities(such as with the way of mercy monk) which originally(or at least based on initial 5e design philosophy) would have recharged on short rests have been changed to have a number of uses per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus, if you suspect an ability on a class has been changed in such a manner, feel free to bring it up to me and I will decide whether it should be changed or not.

Martial Buff

Fighters, Barbarians, Monks, Rogues, and Rangers receive class features according to the Fighter subclass Battlemaster. Your level for these features is based on your cumulative levels in fighter, barbarian, monk, rogue, and ranger.

Artifacts of Power

In this campaign every player character and some NPCs will have unique items associated with them that are a direct reflection of both their person and their relative power. These will act very similarly to the artifact magic items from the DMG and other source books in that they will have both positive and negative effects. Items will gain positive effects at levels 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 20 while gaining negative effects at levels 4, 8, 12, and 16. Additionally, effects may be added spontaneously if significant enough events occur to the player character and may be positive or negative. Similarly, effects may morph and change should a strong enough event occur.   Players may choose which item they wish to be their artifact item or have the DM choose. Ideally, an artifact item is one that is either prominently displayed by/on the character or frequently used by them with such examples being articles of clothing, armor, weapons, and arcane focuses. A player may choose to have more than one artifact, but only one may receive effects at a time. A player cannot choose which items receive spontaneous effects.   A player may be automatically attuned to their artifact upon receiving it and may attune or unattune if they spend a long rest doing bonding with it. A player is automatically unattuned if they spend a long rest separated from their artifact. Artifacts which are separated from their original creators cannot gain effects but may be attuned to.

Magic Items

This is less of a rule and more of a notice that magic items in this campaign will revolve more around changing the way your character plays rather than stat increases or clear upgrades.
