A running battle between a Dead Sea Collective Ark and Apex and Crimson Coast ships end with the sinking of the Ark Murdhome off Driftwood.

The Ark Murdhome had not intended to raid along the Crimson Coast but when winds forced the Ark south through the Straight and Narrow the warlord in charge made the best of it. After raiding north of Talonwheel the Murdhome attracted the attention of the local naval forces. The Crimson Fleet could not be assembled quickly, but isolated squadrons and individual ships hounded the Murdhome as it made its way south. These skirmishes were largely unsuccessful, many Crimson ships were sunk, but the ark took damage which could not easily be repaired at sea.   Seeing that further combat would likely lead to his Arks eventual capture or destruction the captain Erik the Fur-Faced took the ark into Apex waters, hoping this would discourage the Crimson ships from following him, allowing him to escape to take on supplies and make essential repairs somewhere to the south of Shiver Town. This did not come to pass. The Cirmson ships did break of pursuit. However the Apex fleet stationed at Shiver Town had been informed of the Ark's presence in the Golden Sea. These ships lured the Murdhome into range of the city's cannon. These newfangled weapons blew a hole in the hull of the murdhome which could not be plugged. The ship began to take on water and by the afternoon was listing heavily to port. The Apex squadron now renewed their attack. Even so the reslient ship did not go down before heavy weather hit during the night. Most aboard the Murdhome drowned during the night.   A goblin going by the name of Talkyboo survived and was enslaved soon after drifting ashore.
