Tine-Gal Mountain

Situated in the center of the Hinterlands, this massive volcanic mountain was once home to the largest Dwarven settlement on all of Midgard, known as Deepforge. After the fall of the Dwarven people and their subsequent vanishing a hundred years ago, Tine-Gal Mountain began erupting ceaselessly as if in response, sending near constant explosions of lava high into the air and clouds of ash to blanket the surrounding areas.

The mountain itself was believed by the Dwarves to be the home of an elemental deity that they came to call Gläd. The denizens of Deepforge worshiped this deity and gave it offerings to show their faith, constructing countless monuments and works of art, some of which must still survive within the city's ruins.

Despite the relatively recent occurrence of these events, no one has been able to determine what exactly happened to the thousands of Dwarves who lived in the city, or where they might have gone. Countless hypothesis exist attempting to explain the coinciding of Deepforge's fall and the start of Tine-Gal's constant eruption, but none have been proven. The main standing hypothesis says that Deepforge was attacked by an unknown enemy and most, if not all of the population was killed, and in an expression of immense grief and sorrow the deity within the mountain caused it to begin erupting.

Though again, this is mere conjecture, for none have been able to venture up the mountain to prove anything for sure.

Geography

Tine-Gal mountain is a massive cinder cone volcano that is located at the center of the Hinterlands. Its incredibly steep and jagged sides are near impossible to climb without proper equipment, and now with the addition of a constant flow of lava it has become a death sentence to climb. For those seeking entrance into the lost city, the carved stone gates of Deepforge lie halfway up the mountain side.

Natural Resources

The mountain is a veritable trove of countless ore and gemstone deposits, both on the surface and within the mountain itself. Seekers of rare and unique minerals would be wise to bring mining equipment with them if they decide to journey up the mountain's steep slopes.
