The Magic of Shattering

A simple art, Fraxur is the practice of breaking physical objects or magical effects. The casters that practice this art are called Breakers. Breakers train to generate massive amounts of force in their limbs and force magic into critical points of objects and magic with the goal of breaking them down and removing them from the Breaker's path. Overall, Fraxur is one of the most straightforward forms of magic in all of Reliah. That said, it may surprise many to find that Breakers are a rare sight. This is due to how dangerous the art itself is. A novice Breaker can easily rebound the magic back into themselves, shattering bones, shredding muscles, or completely severing a limb from the body.
Fraxur magic comes from raw orange mana which it uses due to the mana's proclivity to detonate once a great force is applied. The detonation when applied carelessly often dissipates with little effect, however when aimed precisely even small amounts of orange mana can turn boulders to dust in the air. Masters Breakers can control the detonations of magical energy on the smallest scales, breaking bones through armor and snapping swords in half with a single finger's touch.
When attacking magic directly, a breaker can disperse the energy of a magical effect by detonating a pocket of orange mana inside the target magic. As with all Fraxure magic, the Breaker must make physical contact with the magic but can often go completely unharmed if they break the magic properly. Doing this isn't subtle in any way, however. When magic is broken, a loud noise, flash of light, or heat is generated in the area of contact.

Fraxur Lethality

Injuries sustained from Fraxur are extremely difficult to heal properly. It is very common for wounds caused by Breakers to leave lasting marks on those they face in combat. Because of how lethal Fraxure is, many kingdoms outright ban the practice of it within their borders. Most practitioners of Fraxure keep their art a secret due to this truth.
