The Renge Frontier

The Renge Frontier, called the Metropolitan Frontier by the Hegemony, is a segment of space located in between the two political powers. This border is not one of equals, as Metropolis Space outsizes the Renge Hegemony’s by a factor of four to one. Via the Treaty of NoGah, it is technically called the Metro-Hegemonic Demilitarized Zone. The Renge Frontier acts as a no-go zone for both governments’ forces. Any military movements into the Renge Frontier can be considered an act of war. Despite this restriction, both societies have hundreds of civilian settlements throughout the Renge Frontier. It is also home to several non-aligned species. There are the go’Tau: a collection of individualized, hivemind vines-like plants discovered five centuries ago by Hegemony scientists. Then there are the Ophidians, a primal, matricidal society of biomechanical-geneticists of unmatched skill. the Raptor Sul, a small, bipedal, reptilian species aligned with the El-Men Stratocracy, which is only known for its brutality and raiding of other civilizations. Lastly, the Ro Moni, a barbeled, fish-like, aquatic species that have an interstellar reputation as traders, wanderers and thieves. Just like in the Great Frontier, the Red Circle is the most dominate cultural group inside of the Renge Frontier.
