Laerakond

Laerakond is the next continent North of Winval. The key geographical differences are a far hotter climate and rough, mountainous terrain.

Geography

Whereas Winval is mostly plains and grasslands with a moderate climate and mountains to the north, Laerakond has a harsh and volcanic terrain. There is little grass, found only in certain less rocky biomes. The Continent consists of a large central landmass surrounded by seven smaller islands. Volcanoes are not uncommon among the towering mountains that make up the centre of Laerakond with rivers of lava circling it's capital city.
Due to the rocky landscape of Laerakond, ores are in abundance and easily harvested meaning a large portion of the metals in Winval were imported from Laerakond. It also means there are many industrial towns and mines populating the continent. The first ever steam powered technology originated in a dwarven city to the East of Laerakond due to the island's booming industry.
Dragonborn, Genasi, Dwarves, humans and Mountain Orcs are all native species to the islands of Laerakond.
