Captain William 'Bill' Starling

William Starling was a high - elf courier for The Steward Alliance who captained the Raven's Triumph in it's prime.  When he retired in 2938 ASO, Bill left the ship to his daughter Lydia Starling.
Bill died in the year 2940, two years into his retirement. He was sat at home in his study when he heard a crash from the living room. Drawing his sword, Skyfall, Will headed into his living room to see an 8 foot tall monster of flesh and steel whirring like a steam train and draped in a cloak stood before a smashed window. It was Cleaver, a ruthless murderer and egotist that Will had turned over to the city guard years prior when he had stowed away on the Raven's Triumph. Cleaver drew a large blade, at least a foot wide, from his back and began advancing towards the elven captain.
The two clashed steel, Cleaver's strength far out weighed Bill's but he was dexterous enough to evade his initial wild swings, tearing through his furniture. Finally Cleaver had him cornered. With a swift flick of his sword Bill managed to disarm the goliath and force his sword into it's stomach, watching as Cleaver fell back wounded. Thinking he had killed the monster, Will frantically began grabbing his coat and hat to report the event to the town guard. It was at that point he felt his own sword burst through his chest, as a cackling cleaver stood behind him twisting the blade in.

Bill wielded a black-steel cutlass called Skyfall. Skyfall has a long blade of black stained steel, at the base of the blade is a golden engraving of a cloud of starlings that disperses as it moves further up the blade. the hilt has a hand crafted golden hand guard and a leather wrap for comfort. It was said that should the ship be caught in a storm, Skyfall could catch lightning and wield it against attackers.
