When Empires Clash
There are wars that express the conflict of the region, and then there are wars between empires that determine the future of the known world. It is an awesome thing when empires clash. Each battle becomes a legend told long after the known world fades to memory. This conflict shall be such a war, which will test all who stand.
Rim Nasur and Sylvanfall used to be friends, brothers even. Yet somewhere down the ages they drifted apart. Now they are strangers at best, and at worst, rivals. There is no bitterness between the two great kingdoms for the moment. However, conflict is growing in the middle lands with both powers competing for influence. Once they could coexist, but they have grown to need space to call their own.
Rim Nasur and Sylvanfall compete for control of the middle lands, fertile valleys which span between them. Duralon and other kingdoms of the shallow peoples are among the contested areas. Whomever gains control will define the livelihood of the coming generations.
The war is begun by the assassination of Djabiz, Lord of Rim Nasur, by his longtime ally Red Reaper. Or so the accusation went. The Red Reaper is from a bloodline with a history of slaying their friends. Yet Red Reaper herself denies that she killed Lord Djabiz.
The Red Reaper is very well-known throughout the middle lands for her prowess in battle. All the kingdoms there have been aided by her at least once. Now they must all choose a side or be swept away. Though that may happen anyway.
