"Realm Breaker" Valdus Aetherius (a.k.a. The Blade of Blight)

Valdus arrived in Eldoria after coming from another realm; Earth. His past is mostly dark, and rather painful for him. He both regrets and despises of his path, but pushes on forward, nonetheless. Upon learning about Eldoria's state he immediately decided upon this world being his new home - one that he'd help protect. His personality is rather sporadic. Valdus is also often known for his stubbornness, short-temper, and recklessness. He also calls himself out for being dense and/or oblivious, but despite that, he portrays a friendly and caring personality. From time-to-time he tries to hide his softer side. His teeth are unnaturally sharp, and his lifespan and aging are distorted, due to his connection to Kaenrae. He's Fate-Linked to Valena, and Blood-Linked to Nex. Often Valdus is seen as selfless, even willing to give up his own life to ensure the safety of others, though from time-to-time he's also found to be twisted, his broken personality then leading him to become aggressive and violent.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

On his left forehand is a burn scar formed in the shape of a vertical sharp oval, with a dot in the centre - like an eye. Most of his teeth are sharper than normal. Valdus has a bite mark scarring on his upper left arm, just below his shoulder.
When utilising his Realm-Link Affinity, Valdus's left arm lights up with white fire, and white flames engulf the blade of his katana when it's unsheathed. The markings along the sword glow blue. The mark on his forehand changes colour to a bright blue glow and sends off sparks of blue fire.
His Realm Breaker Affinity causes his left eye to shine purple, lighting up with a purple flame, and it bleeds. A brighter, purple mark forms around the iris. Embers of purple fire flicker from parts of his body, and more of the fire engulfs the blade of his katana when it’s unsheathed. The markings along the sword glows purple.
Entering a further state of his Realm Breaker Affinity, shrouds his body in purple shadows and flames which envelope majority of his body. The shrouds form into what appears almost demonic; sharp claws, and armour-like plating. This occurs predominantly in the left side of his body. His left eye bleeds more in this state.

Special abilities

Valdus wields the Realm Breaker Key Affinity. He is best attuned to the Flamma Base Affinity. When wounded, faint flickers of purple fire may sometimes cover his wounds, easing the pain and sometimes numbing it overall. He also wields the Weapon-Dancer Affinity, which grants him the ability to warp to his sword in any state, and can cause slashes in the air from his blade, which send forward blasts of sharp wind. Valdus also wields the Realm-Link Affinity, and when he utilises it, most of his magic becomes a bright white. When Valdus controls his Realm Breaker state his magic is enhanced dramatically. His Essence also gains immense animosity in his Realm Breaker state. Since Valdus is Soul-Linked to Kaenrae, he can speak telepathically to him, as well as being able to suppress Corruption outbreaks within Kaenrae. Doing so will cause both of them to fall unconscious as a result, though. Valdus can utilise Kaenrae's runes when they're summoned. Since he's Blood-Linked to Nex, Valdus can utilise his aura at a higher degree than normal.

Apparel & Accessories

Valdus wears a black jacket with a grey shirt underneath, black cropped trousers, and high black boots. He also wields a black-bladed katana, sheathed usually in a black scabbard strapped to his back. The scabbard is held on by three straps.

Personal history

Valdus never knew who his father was, and had always lived with his mother, listening to stories about the times before his father left. He was built up from a past he regrets and loathes, blaming himself for past actions he knows he obviously cannot undo. He was originally form Earth and ended up in Eldoria due to the Realm-Link he unintentionally caused and opened.

Mental Trauma

Valdus harbours great regret, leading him to stress when he can't set a selfless stance to save anyone else, or even angering him when he is seen as a truly good person. In the past Valdus had faced being an outcast and mistreated by others in school. He also feels guilty for the loss of a loved one in his past. Since then Valdus has disliked being seen in positivity by others, feeling all he does that's good to others is atonement for his past, back in his home realm. He also fears how easily the Realm Breaker Affinity can take control of him.

Likes & Dislikes

Valdus is obsessed with dragons, especially Kaenrae, and his favourite thing to eat is pork. He also loves drinking ginger beer. He loves having Kaenrae by his side, but also enjoys the company of others from time-to-time, especially Valena, Tenebrae, Nex and Vertex. That said, he and Kaenrae often enjoy time together without anyone else the most. He enjoys flights with Kaenrae, and spends his leisure time with Kaenrae, often utilising their Realm Breaker Affinities at low degrees for simple entertainment. Valdus loves the warmth, and favours being inside caves/dens. He often hates being called cute/adorable/etc. and hates when someone worries about him.
