"Lathe of Caligra" Silf Ventis

Silf is a rather grouchy person, considered explosive at times too, especially when she is drunk - which is most of the time. She is often seen wielding her rifle and pistol when she goes out into the dunes with Hackett, but she doesn’t sell them in her shop and refuses to sell the design to anyone regardless of how much money they offer her. One poor sod that tried to take it by force wound up dead, making an example for any other would-be thieves. Silf only carries her cavalry sabre when low on ammo, or if her knife isn’t going to cut it.

Identifying Characteristics

Silf has shoulder length, dark brown hair done up in a ponytail. She usually wears dark brown, long pants, a white shirt and gloves with various stains on them, and brown, leather overalls. Otherwise, she just wears whatever is clean she has lying around.

Special abilities

Silf’s has the Hawkeye Key Affinity, being able to make use of it with phenomenal expertise.

Apparel & Accessories

Silf wears a leather tool belt holding her tools when she’s working, and a pair of goggles on her head with clear lenses. She has a leather bag slung around her shoulder containing her stuff and ammo, a knife strapped to the back of her belt that also acts as a bayonet for her rifle, and a cavalry sabre sheathed on the left side of her belt. She only takes her revolver and knife when she goes into town.

Specialized Equipment

The rifle Silf wields is her Mk6 bolt-action. It's the 6th version of her rifle models, featuring an integrated 10-round magazine, and bayonet lugs, as well as her specialised fire crystal tipped explosive rounds. The revolver she has is the first sidearm she produced, and is still her most trusted gun. It's a classic six-shooter that she has modified over the years and packs a hell of a punch and is accurate even at long ranges.

Personal history

Although Silf is at-home in Caligra, she claims to not be from Eldoria despite not being Realm-Linked. Having found herself in Caligra years before Valdus first arrived in the Cardinal Planes, she made a name for herself by fixing the residents' machines, and she eventually opened a repair and small arms shop. There, she sold spare parts, machinery and such, as well as knives, daggers and some of her experimental prototypes she often makes when she's bored. She met Hackett back in the capital of Caligra, and long before the Corruption outbreak the two teamed up in a monster hunting guild. Amidst one of their hunting missions, Drach't made its first appearance, bringing ruin to the Shifting Sands. This was also Silf's first run-in with any Corrupt.
