Stylus of Thoth

The Stylus of Thoth is an Incredibly powerful Abnerak artifact. It is 7 inches long and half an inch wide, with a tip on one end and a rounded top, growing to an inch wide. It is made from the same silver-white metal as other Abnerak artifacts, with intricate writing in the Abnerak script running along the sides made from a deep blue light. By itself, the stylus is as a normal pen, albeit one that writes in glowing blue light. But when combined with Thoth's Tablet, the power of the Stylus comes to light. When writing on the Thoth's Tablet with the Stylus of Thoth, a law, code, or other restriction becomes fact, and cannot be broken by whomever is bound by it. By drawing massive amounts of energy from the Divine Realm, it binds a persons soul to this new restriction. The target of this action must be present and know what the stylus is and what it does, otherwise there will be no effect. If the Stylus does work however, the target is absolutely and completely bound to its effect, regardless of consent. For example, a king or emperor who knew the power of the Stylus and Tablet, could be bound to obey the user of the Stylus. Both the Stylus and the Tablet are contained within the central chamber of The Dragons' Vault, given as a reward to those who reach it. However, anyone who chooses the Stylus and Tablet as their reward are only given one use of it while Elgeraan spectates, ensuring nothing overly dangerous is done but otherwise not interfering. In order to take it for themselves, they would need to kill Elgeraan for it.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Nobody knows exactly how the Stylus works, or why it needs Thoth's Tablet to do so, only that it does. Drawing energy from other realms is not unknown for Abnerak artifacts, but that it is able to directly touch a person's soul makes it a phenomena. It is even capable of binding sentient Automatons, even with the lack of a soul to bind to its power, even further confusing what it actually does when used.
