Pelipuran
Pelipuran is the capital city of Fyor, and Eos as a whole. Pelipuran is the largest city in Eos. Pelipuran originally existed as a small village in northern Fyor, which increased in size greatly when the Mt Fyor summit was overtaken and subsequently abandoned by Elfreide 2000 years ago.
Elfreide's conquest of the summit displaced a large community of people who had previously lived in the summit village of Deusbora. The displaced community moved down the mountain to the budding town of Pelipuran, and built up a neighborhood at the edge of the city which they named Deusbora, after their lost summit village.
The villagers discovered that Pelipuran had recently been in the midst of some sort of earthquake, which had buried many monuments and bits of the city. They had experienced the earthquake at the summit as well, and attributed strange symptoms of memory loss to the earthquake, which many believed must have flattened their village.
One of the things buried in the earthquake was the Serpentine road which encircled the island. This is still being excavated today.
Being the closest port to Selannius, Pelipuran has always been heavily influenced by the near Selannian port of Zazzerville. There has been a long standing influx of fey peoples to Pelipuran, often up to mischief and fun.
Due to the hot and wet climate of Pelipuran (much wetter than opposite city Palimpay), much of the city was built in many layers and on stilts, both to avoid the frequent floods and to provide better airflow and cooling ventilation to the buildings.
Overall, Pelipuran has held a powerful and secure position as a major port of trade (the only port which has reasonably quick access to another continent). It also benefitted from strong agricultural production and access to the dense Fyorian jungle and venning supply. When the Serpentine Accords were being discussed, Fyor was the strongest advocate for including Eos in the accords. When the Accords were signed, the unincorporated islands of Eos unified, with Pelipuran as the capital. The capital buildings were built there, with their characteristic large circular windows.
Pelipuran has a wide variety of districts, each with their own vibrant atmosphere. Some districts are known for unique pubs, cafes, or dance clubs. Others are known for cafes, book stores, thrift stores. There is the Deusbora, which as above is dedicated to worship. The docks are known for gambling, fight clubs, and other types of shops which are allowed only on ships since they are illegal in the city. There are ample clinics dappled throughout the city, especially with special curse units, which exist due to the frequent nature of fey curses befalling citizens of Pelipuran.
While the fey influence is not appreciated by some, most acknowledge that they do very little real harm, mainly being the source of ample pranks and tricks. Also, with the length of time that Selannius has had an influence, an element of the fey culture has leaked into Pelipurani culture as well, making the fey influence even more common and accepted.
