Tiamat, the Chromatic Queen

Tiamat the Dragon Queen is the chief deity of evil dragonkind. She dwells on Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. As a dragon god, Tiamat has the power to grant spells to her worshipers, though she is loath to share her power. She epitomizes the avarice of evil dragons, believing that the multiverse and all its treasures will one day be hers and hers alone.
The evil queen of dragons is a fearsome god of greed, envy, and hoarded wealth. While chromatic dragons are her clearest worshipers, the Chromatic Queen accepts the worship of all who love wealth over all things—except the queen of dragons herself, of course. All chromatic dragons have a reverence for their tyrannical Queen, but many dragons of near-deific power and ambition chafe under her rule.
Tiamat is a gigantic dragon whose five heads reflect the forms of the chromatic dragons that worship her-black, blue, green, red, and white. She is a terror on the battlefield, capable of annihilating whole armies with her five breath weapons, her formidable spellcasting, and her fearsome claws.
Tiamat is a greedy, vain, and arrogant goddess who embodies all the strengths of evil dragonkind, and few of their weaknesses. The Queen of Evil Dragons demands reverence, homage, supplication, and tribute from her subjects. She is sometimes called "Her Dark Majesty" or simply "Dark Queen". Tiamat is most concerned with spreading evil, defeating good, and propagating chromatic dragons. She never forgives a slight. Although she is not averse to razing the occasional village, her true schemes are subtle and hard to detect. She has been compared to a puppeteer manipulating her creations from within shadows.
The Scaled Tyrant’s hatred for the Platinum Dragon is as old as the Founding, and her cults are ever hunted by his justice. Her worship has for centuries been limited to chromatic dragons by these zealous paladins, but sects of mortal dragon-worshipers have been appearing across the world more frequently Over the last decade.
Like most other draconic deities, Tiamat is the offspring of the dragon creator deity Io. Tiamat's most hated enemy is Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, the ruler of all metallic dragons, with whom she shares control of the faith of dragonkind. It is hinted that her overt hatred toward Bahamut has developed, over a vast period of time, into a twisted lust for her brother as well.

THE PROPHECY OF FIVE

Tiamat guides her children from Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. While all chromatic dragons are of her brood, she claims many chromatic and metallic dragonborn as her children as well.
She gifts certain dragons with her essence, one of each type, allowing them to become Elderwyrms. Tiamat can only grant this blessing once every few hundred years or so, making it difficult for there to be five Elderwyrms simultaneously. Leshrac, the Verdant Corruptor, is the green Elderwyrm in a forest in the land of Vithia. Thundermaw, the Azure Drake, is the blue Elderwyrm, who lairs in the far off Zulubir Desert on the continent of Jarro. The most recent white Elderwyrm, a dragon named Shurtuloth the White Death, was killed as a young dragon by adventurers decades ago. The most recent black Elderwyrm, Xisvieth Deathwing, the Sable Sadist, was killed by a small army of heroes two centuries before that. There has not been a red Elderwyrm created for a thousand years.
It is said that Tiamat will recapture and fuse the essences of the Five Elderwyrms into a new draconic deity to help her destroy her brother Bahamut.
