A union of all of the states within The Confederation, conglomerated in the center of the country. The surrounding farmland and smaller towns are simply under the local jurisdiction.
History
Although the capital has always been a source of prosperity, even before the Moon's Cry, it's prosperity can sometimes seem unparalleled today. With the union of all the empires of Kohlm unified into an everlasting allegiance, this makes Quintesse a beacon of beauty, culture, and luxury. It's massive slums are scurried away in favour of lavish palatial estates and tremendous orthodoxies that tower upon the skyline, servicing the new gods and their fickle ways.
Quintesse holds an unstable reality, however. With political power split between the major nations, all vying within the union for dominance, it can make the white bricked city seem more fragile on the inside than from without. But with the most famous nobles of the land consolidated here, many conniving political machinations abound through the strict authoritarian regime.
