The Alexander Family

Assets

Until the year 14, Elias Alexander was the sole member of the family Alexander. His parents had died in 10 AA and 23 AA, and he had no relatives. However, they still possessed the Grand Alexander Hotel, a massive monolithic castle of a hotel located in Lorme. The Alexander family additionally held an old manor located in the Seven Islands, off the coast of Ashil. Being one of the oldest families in Therana, the Alexander family had partial control over the Scarlet Syndicate, and the Sanguine Enigma, an assassin-for-hire, was often employed by the Alexander family. Elias continued to pull strings inside both Ravenblood and Therana, including the power to institute Walter Blackroot as a spy inside Therana for Ravenblood, earning Elias personal sovereign control over the town of Rigne, if only briefly. Within the bank vaults of Lorme and Istara, it is rumored that the Alexander inheritance is worth thousands of gold pieces, piled in heaps large enough to swim in.

History

Alexander Manor was constructed by Claudius Alexander in 130 AA, the first notable member of the family rich enough to become part of the ruling families of Therana. At the time, Therana's border stretched to the Seven Islands, and the manor was within its jurisdiction, giving the family a seat of power in the East. Claudius married Karola Dniegania, a wealthy socialite from Senza, and they bought properties and fiefs in eastern Ariandra. In 112 AA, their first child, Mariana, was born, along with her brother Aranchus. As the pair grew up, they founded the city of Duskane, one of the largest in Ravenblood. The two began a secretly incestuous relationship, bearing a child, Voren, in 77 AA, though Aranchus would swear that Voren's mother was an unidentified mistress who would often visit the house. Mariana eventually left Aranchus, and had a child of her own, Damian, in 64 AA, but she died soon after from a nasty bout of illness. Voren made use of his power, and bought the voting power of several Ravenblood governors and Theranan lords, inspiring corruption in the cities of Ladun, Lorme, Duskane, and the towns of Fernes, Rishsci, Auldtin, and Seastone. Voren married Eliana Rechova, Lady of Lorme in 56 AA, and they built on the foundations of the Grand Palace the Grand Alexander Hotel, a colossal landmark of the city's wealth and power; one of the tallest buildings in The Honorable Republic of Therana. When Rila Garju came to power in 44 AA and began to crack down on corruption in Therana, the Alexander family shifted their focus to Fasilin City and drew back from Ladun, Auldtin, and Seastone. Damian Alexander remained in Duskane, and until his death, controlled the city on behalf of his estranged relatives.
