Verb-blight is an odd magical affliction, that alters people's physical appearance via inscribing magical doing words that compel them to do the written verb.
This can be fatal, especially if the verb is something related to flying and you are stuck on a cliff.
Verb-blight is an old Coven War curse.
Transmission & Vectors
Random infection rate.
However there is a few key vectors.
Namely drinking swamp water, touching cursed Glyphgrass and kissing anybody who has the curse.
Causes
The magic in this curse, animated with the need to do something. It affects the cerebellum first, then slowly spreads everywhere else.
The vectors
Symptoms
Verbs, nouns or adjectives appearing on the person's skin.
Mental symptoms include the need to do that verb, obsessed with running, or refusing to rest. Physical changes can include the word appearing on the skin, sometimes literal and unexpected physical alterations.
Treatment
Calmy stop the infected person , from moving and calm them down. Fixing the curse, is a very simple matter, giving the infected person a word curse fix potion.
Prognosis
While fatal in worst case scenario, the Verb-blight curse doesn't raise people from the dead, luckily. This is not a good thing, for anybody affected by the curse. Exhaustion and worse can follow
Sequela
In the late stage, words appear on the target's skin, like welts or warts.
Affected Groups
Anybody who can think, talk or move.
Hosts & Carriers
Most plants aren't carriers. Bizarrely the curse only affects animals or people.
Prevention
Don't eat or drink swamp water, carry a dictionary amulet.
History
The first recorded case of Verb-blight happened barely a week after the Coven War 3nded.
Cultural Reception
Poorly, although some Haps, Saps and Curs think the Verb-blight curse is very funny.
