Imperatrix
Her word is law. She rules the entire kingdom, with help from her two consuls and the senate. The royal bloodline has produced rulers for several generations. The title has traditionally been passed down with the death of the previous Imperatrix, though this is not required. A public election is held every 10 years.
Qualifications
The title is bestowed by the people via represented election. Before accepting the title, the Imperatrix-to-be must complete several sacred rites and pass a combat trial.

Appointment
Coronation is performed publicly, and it is an important event, drawing tens of thousands of viewers. Typically, the ceremony is performed by the eldest member of the individual's family. If none is available, the consuls or head of church may perform the ceremony instead.
Duties
Oversee the security of the empire and its people. Lead by example. Rule by delegation.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Through unanimous agreement among both consuls and the senate, the title of Imperatrix may be withdrawn. Her exile is then the most likely outcome.
