Tomb of Odelaan
The Tomb of Odelaan, or "Noire Odelaani" in the Elven tongue, is an ancient ruined tomb of a hero of Wood-Elven history. The ruin is now outside of elven territory and as such has fallen to disrepair and apathy on the part of the humans who now own the land the tomb is in. It has long ago been ransacked and emptied of any treasures, however the ruin may still hold secrets valuable to treasure hunters or elven historians.
Purpose / Function
Noire Odelaani was built to entomb the bodies of Odelaan, an ancient elven hero, and his men.
Design
The Tomb of Odelaan itself is under the ruin above ground. The Statue of Odelaan is the only standing structure outside, along with the foundation and crumbled walls of a small open-air temple.
Architecture
Noire Odelaani's architecture and style are typical of ancient Wood-Elven buildings. Even without the ancient building being covered in growth from the forest floor, the building would almost seem to be a natural part of the forest.
History
Odelaan Aeldi an Shaedras was an ancient Wood-Elf hero during the time when humans were coming into the Emerald Coast. Odelaan and his fourteen men were able to hold back a siege on the Elven city of Ghadyn Thara by human invaders. Because of this, a tomb was built within the forests of Blathanaviir for Odelaan and his men to be put to rest upon their deaths to honor their heroism.
