Tito

The Blackmailer

Tito is a Filipino immigrant and one of the leaders of The Coniglietto Mafia, a well-known criminal, and a major character in the Prohibition story. As the more infamous head of the Mafia, Tito excels in leading the illegal processes and blackmailing the Mafia's opposition.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Tito is a short, sturdy woman, with scruffy dark, coffee-colored hair. Her appearance is more masculine than feminine, with broad shoulders and a boyish body. She's typically recovering from a number of injuries due to her reckless nature, but Tito makes herself appear to be in top condition.

Body Features

Tito is exceeding shorter than her peers, barely taller than five feet, which is natural given her nationality. Her physique is neither muscled nor lanky, more lean and compact. Tito lacks the typical feminine body, with a small chest and with curves noticeably absent. Underneath her black suit and numerous bandages are an array of scars ranging from stabs scars, to few healed-over bullet wounds and bruises to burns on her cinnamon skin. Most curious of all her scars are several circular burns along her right forearm. Tito's hair resembles a mane: coarse and thick, and often left uncombed. It appears to be a dark chocolate color, her hair lights up to a copper color.

Facial Features

Keeping with her boyish appearance, Tito's face is masculine for a woman. Her face is square and rigid, normally wearing a cheeky, smug smile. Her irises are copper-colored, with wide, slightly squinted and slanted Asiatic eyes and thin, angular brows. Her irises are typically extremely contracted, likely adding to her off-putting appearence. Across the corner of Tito's right eye, there is a small, faint scar. It's rare to see Tito wearing anything but an angry or smug expression on her face.

Identifying Characteristics

Tito can be identified by many features. One of her most easily recognizable traits is her vastly shorter stature than most. Another would be her intimidating aura. Be it from her reputation, her unsettling voice or her anarchic ways, people often find themselves put off by her presence. A third feature would be her hallmark untucked cravat. Being a nearly three hundred year old fashion statement, no one but Tito and a founding fathers cosplayers would be wearing it.

Physical quirks

It is unknown if the scar over Tito's eye impairs her vision, but due to the fact she will sometimes wear eyeglasses and some small rumors, it can be guessed that Tito is somewhat nearsighted. Tito, in spite of her attitude and general disposition, is quite weak physically. Though she has survived her fair share of fights, some of the only reasons she's lived through the more lethal encounters is due to either luck or a strong will. The main reason would be her agility. Thanks to her smaller size and quick reflexes, she's able to run and duck faster than most. But a stab wound can incapacitate her for many weeks. Tito also has the odd quirk of smelling of spices, more specifically turmeric and coriander.

Apparel & Accessories

Tito wears a plain black suit with puffy sleeves and vanilla cufflinks. Occasionally, Tito wears a black fedora, with a white carnation and red ribbon. She wears her iconic cravat around her neck nearly all the time, with signs of age like faded stains of blood and frayed strands. Her pants are oversized, which she tucks into knee-high boots. The pants puff out around her knees, but she likes the look. Underneath her suit, Tito wears a white barong tagalog.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

There is nearly nothing known about Tito's history because of how well she is able to cover her tracks. Some aspects have been managed to be pieced together. It is a well-known fact, though, that she hails from the Philippines: a fact that Tito wears on her chest like a badge of honor. She often speaks in Filipino to herself, and wears apparel originating from that country. Nearly nothing is known about Tito's mother or father, or grandparents. She's never spoken kindly of her childhood.   Due to the large amount of experience and connections Tito has, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume Tito has been a criminal for a majority of her life. It's also unclear the amount of schooling Tito has had, if any at all. Although Tito is naturally intelligent, she isn't knowledgeable about most scholarly topics like advanced mathematics or biology.

Education

Tito likely didn't finish a higher education. Or grade school. When asked about her educational formative years, Tito usually replies with a blank stare or off-handed comment about the education system. She claims that she learnt everything she knows "on the street, not some dumb classroom."

Mental Trauma

Naturally, Tito doesn't talk about her feelings, especially her past traumas. If anyone tries to pry any admission of weakness out of her, she'll violently lash out. Though she's never acknowledged it, many older members of the Mafia know not to smoke around Tito.

Intellectual Characteristics

Tito has a quick-witted, strategical mind. Be it from nature or experience, there is no denying it. For the most part, Tito can back up every tactical choice she's made with logic and fair reasoning. The other part is her weakness: her anger. For all her reasoning and cognition, Tito can't control her temper. It shows itself in ugly bursts of illogical rage and violence.   Tito may have some mental illness, but she'd rather die before ever thinking of attending therapy. All her rationale couldn't ever teach her how to express her feelings or ask for help.

Morality & Philosophy

As you'd expect from a hardened criminal, Tito's moral compass is incredibly skewed. To her, the difference between good and bad doesn't matter. She does what she wants to benefit her, and those she deems worthy of protecting. If she wants something, she'll do anything she can to have it, be it extortion, blackmail or murder. To Tito, good people are people who don't take the easy way out. Not to make other people happy or for some greater being, but because they're good on the inside and want to put good in the world. In her opinion, Tito is not a good person.    As for philosophy, Tito doesn't exactly give a shit about the nature of reality or existence.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

One of Tito's main drives would be freedom. She expresses her distaste towards a passive life openly. To Tito, there would be nothing more humiliating than settling down and becoming a slave to a husband, forced to care for children and a cozy home. In her opinion, she couldn't live with herself, knowing that she could live a more fulfilling, gritty, real life. Tito wants nothing more than to feel that she's earned what she has, and to be free of constraints set on her by a husband, society or anyone.    Tito's subtler motive is to lead and command. She would never relinquish control over the Mafia willingly. Tito enjoys being responsible for others, respected, and being looked up to as powerful. Though she makes it seem fake or a sham, Tito's defense of her comrades is completely genuine in its anger.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Tito built her criminal reputation on her violence and ruthlessness. Naturally, she's able to use many weapons easily. She's a pro at using all kinds of knifes to cut, incapacitate, and kill, though she prefers her personal blade and balisongs over the more common stiletto knifes. Tito also loves to concoct her personal inventions, what she refers to as "hellfire in a bottle" or "The Devil's Wine". It consists of a tall bottle, flammable liquid, and a cloth stuck inside. The toxic cocktail is made up of multiple ingredients: gasoline, turpentine, alcohol, and other incendiary liquids. The cloth is lit on fire and thrown at a target to cause sustained fiery damage.  Unlike most gangsters, however, Tito is terrible at using guns. She hardly knows how to operate most guns thanks to her stubborn hatred. Her aim is second-rate, and she hates recoil with a blazing passion. She has a compact, barely-functioning handgun that she keeps as a last resort, though she hates using it.    An obscure fact about Tito is her affinity for cooking. She enjoys cooking soups and saucy dishes, which almost always include steaming hot rice. Her food often leans on the spicy and salty side, with savory meaty and fish.

Virtues & Personality perks

Tito's strongest trait would be her intelligence, which she notoriously uses to manipulating others to her whim and desires. She's a master of interpreting body language, deducing worlds of information just by someone's hand gestures or tone of voice. Tito investigative capabilities are extraordinary. She'll manage to dig up skeletons you've buried to years, and use it to destroy you. She'll play cruel mind games and use you like a puppet until she eventually disposes of you when you're no longer of use to her. Just as she's a master of analysis, Tito is also a master of deception. She can lie and bend the truth, and use people's emotions against them. She will pit people against each other, or use them to accomplish her goals without lifting a thumb.   Another notable trait of Tito's is her perseverance and protectiveness. You can knock you down, but she wouldn't die without a fight. This goes for her underlings, as much as herself. Though she'd likely never admit it, she cares more than she want to about her employees. If you mess with her people, she will take you to hell and back, no matter the cost.

Vices & Personality flaws

Tito's intelligence is as much of a strength as it is a weakness. She's able to calculate strategize, and weight risks in seconds. Because of that, Tito loves to take risks that have high rewards, typically with no account for how her counterparts feel about her reckless behavior. This is opposed to Zeko, who often consults others when making important decisions. Tito will gladly gamble her strongest assets by sending them on dangerous but highly profitable shipments, even if it risks them being arrested to killed. Tito will even gamble herself, sending herself on tricky missions. These usually end with her badly injured, but with a big payday: she would be happy with herself. Another related major flaw of Tito's is her disregard for others. She says what she wants to say and does what she wants to do, feelings be damned. This mindset is evident in Tito's presentation of herself: swearing constantly and dressing in male clothing, in clear rejection of a what society thinks a female's outfit should be. Tito rarely listens to anyone but herself and logic.   Tito is also famous for her cruelty and violence. In her eyes, pain is the best teacher. Be it emotional or physically pain, Tito will use it to teach her enemies a lesson, even allies too. It isn't uncommon for Tito to punish others brutally for minor transgressions. Now, if you wrong her or those she holds close, Tito never forgets a grudge. She could wait years to get bloody and or fiery revenge and vindication she believes she deserves. If Boss weren't there, Tito would likely never consider peace or pacifism. Her default response to many things is to the lash out. Tito's ferocity is not to be questioned.   Though she maybe be intelligent in most areas, emotional intelligence is Tito's weakness. Her lack of empathy can be credited to this. She's abysmal at understanding and communicating her feelings, especially feels of anger and sadness.    Given what she knows, Tito doesn't trust easily. It takes a lot to make yourself significant in her eyes. Tito looks down on others, especially people who are, in her words, "slaves to society".

Social

Social Aptitude

Tito is, without a doubt, one of the more confident members of the Mafia. She rarely ever second-guesses herself, and is often extremely harsh of other people's actions and mannerisms. Tito is extremely extroverted, with a noticeable lack of a filter or manners. She says what she wants to, be it kind or cruel. In spite of her snarky attitude, Tito is often able to talk people to her side through logic alone, and if that fails? There's always threats.

Speech

Tito often speaks in surprisingly sweet, honeyed tone. Her voice is deep for a woman's, often sounding similar to a high growl or a purr. Though she doesn't do it much, Tito can sing, though her range is limited to alto. Tito's accent is easily to notice because she doesn't try to hide it much. When Tito is surprised or shocked, she makes a quiet squeak. But this legendary sound probably hasn't been heard by anyone. Or anyone alive, that is.     Tito isn't exactly famous for her courteousness. She swears constantly, often calling people rude nicknames that hit too close to home. Her insults aren't intellectual either. She'll usually default to simple insults like "fucker" or "dipshit". In general, Tito doesn't really use big words.

History

All that is known is that the Boss and Tito have known each other for a long time. The total time, health, and the exact timeline of the relationship only becomes coherent by the time the Mafia forms in 1920. By that time, it is rumored the two were already engaged since it was not common knowledge. It is now well unowned, at least among the Coniglietto, that the two front runners are spouses. In the present, Zeko and Tito work well together, played off each others strengths to run the Mafia masterfully.

Nicknames & Petnames

Although she is the less publicly affectionate of the pair, Tito often refers to Boss as "Mahal" when talking to him. No one knows what the term means except for Tito and Zeko.

Commonalities & Shared Interests

There are a multitude of similarities between the two Mafia leaders. One of there more wholesome similarities being their love of jazz music. Both are able to play common jazz instruments: Boss playing trumpet, and Tito playing Baritone Sax. The two of them also share a love of alcohol, though Tito shows a distaste for Boss's favorites like wine and rakija. Lastly, though Tito wouldn't dare to admit it, they both care deeply for the Mafia and its members. As for those, the two seem to be polar opposites.

Shared Acquaintances

Both the Boss and Tito are familiar with each Mafia member thoroughly. Due to Tito extensive ability to uncover long buried secrets, which she promptly shares with her companion, both of them know a great deal about each member's history. Unwanted mysteries and all. Boss typically works with more civil issues, while Tito works in the illegal workings of the Mafia, so their connections typically don't overlap.

Tito often refers to Florence as "Kid", in spite of the fact that Florence is a grown adult and that Tito is the physically smaller of the two. In person, Florence respectfully calls Tito "Ma'am", which Tito finds mildly assuming. In private, Florence's typically uses names like "scary lady" and "teeny terror", while hastily checking over her shoulder making sure Tito doesn't hear.
