The Archean Basin

Geography

The Archean Basin is an unevenly balanced, vividly coloured collection of lush woods, meadows, and farmlands, protected by tall mountains from almost all sides. At the same time, it is also connected to the most threadable path on land and to the safest coastline. With all these advantages given by nature, it is little wonder that this region is where civilization came to bloom for the first time.

Due to how frequently tribes have been moving into and taking care of these lands from the beginning of time, to this day the Basin remains to be the most cleared of them all. The untamed wilderness has been long since reduced to the very borders of the region, and all lands that had some sort of use were indeed used, with plenty more left for later times. The natives did all that they could around their territories to tidy up the region as befits a place that is so full of life and beauty.

Fauna & Flora

Being the most fertile region on the face of Progonos, the healthy native soil rewards caring and hard work with a plentiful harvest once its time arrives. There is a plethora of different vegetation that can be found and raised here, but the earth has accepted even those that were brought in from abroad over the years.

The wildlife of the Basin is likewise very much diverse, yet it got pushed back by a little with the livestock of the archean settlers brought in. Although predators are active in the region, ever since the countryfolk became wise enough in keeping their homes and lands safe, they are less likely to leave the safety of the wilderness and hunt on lands that are inhabited by humans. Beast kings are refreshingly absent from the area, perhaps due to many of the purges at the end of the Mythic age took place here.

Natural Resources

The region is most well known for the treasures that the earth provide, such as fruits, vegetables, herbs, food and industrial crops, spices, flowers, game and livestock and the like. The Basin is literally the breadbasket of the world. It is also a home for a wide variety of game, and a medium amount of metals can be harvested from the mines that were discovered so far.
