You sacrifice yourself for the rest. You are so damn eager to do so. Perhaps you do it out of authentic desinterested love, or the impulse comes from a deeply rooted genetic imperative to preserve your ape-clan. However you most probably do it out of unbearable self-righteousness, blind faith, or because you don't give a shit about the rest, it's just the recipe to become a saint, to get to heaven, to stop reincarnating, or heck... to get the damn key to the celestial scrapyard, where you will feast, drink and fuck for all eternity. Most probably you do not protect everyone, you just protect your own, or a specific group of people (kids, women, the poor, certain ethnicity, tribemembers, etc.). Whatever...
