Roll Smarts & Mining.
When you roll you must state if you are looking for something big or small, just to get by. On a success, you are able to find something:
    Small (it takes you 1 day to get there, or less):
    • A tiny vein or scraps nearby, enough to make a heavy weapon, located one day walk away, or less.
    • A small cache of semi-useful junk, located one day walk away, or less.
    • ACE: Something small but of great value
  • Big (it takes you 1 week to get there):
    • A great metal deposit or scrapyard, enough to make a small mine that will last a year for a medium sized town.
    • A great ruin complex, partially scavenged, with lots of useful stuff... and danger. One week away.
    • ACE: huge metal deposit that will last for many years, or a great unexplored ruin complex full of artifacts and danger.
On a partial success, you find something, but with complications. Unfriendly owners, for example.
On a failure, you lose a full day hiking looking for clues, to no avail.
On a critical failure, you find nothing and something bad happens, or you find what you were looking for, but something really fucked up happens. GM's call.

PC Game: you will see an icon in your compass, telling you the direction in which the deposit/ruin is located.
