Desert Kraken

The desert kraken is actually a carnivorous, mutant mole the size of a horse, that grew tentacles around their maw.
When underground, they use their huge, sharp and tough claws to excavate extensive networks of burrows in compact ground, or to "swim" in the sand.
When doing that, the mole stores the tentacles inside its mouth.
When hunting, it will go out abruptly, releasing the tentacles, trying to grab whatever living creature is around it.
They have no eyes, but they are extremely sensitive to vibrations, sound, and odors.
