Darqueens
As in dark queens.
They are giant spiders that dwell in caves and Ancient ruins.
They are the stuff of nightmares: Their ravenous mandibles are venomous, they have long menacing legs, the tip of their legs are sharp and serrated, they are covered in protective chitin, they are capable of walking on walls and roofs, and they are able to spin extremely strong and sticky cobwebs. Fresh cobwebs are transluscent, older ones turn black and lose their stickiness.
Males are smaller than the females, and their poison is not as strong. After mating, the female will kill and eat the male, and then it will proceed to lay about 20 eggs.
You will most likely find them in 4 sizes (reference is for females):
When they fight an opponent that resists, they display red bioluminiscent patterns in their abdomens, used to cower and distract their foe.
When fighting, they make 2 slashing attacks with their frontal legs, or one Grapple with the frontal legs followed by a poisonous bite. Alternatively, they can throw cobweb at the victim, and the victim will become Entangled.
Defeated victims will be most likely enveloped in cobweb, and transported back to their lair for eating later, unless they are famished.
Their weak point of darqueens is the under-body, although reaching it involves dodging potentially lethal attacks.
Old cobwebs are a highly prized fiber, it is light, flexible, resistant to being torn, hard to cut, and doesn't require dying. It is especially fit for ropes and armor.
These swarms are deadly, they can only be harmed by area of effect attacks, such as molotovs. If this is the case, many will die immediatey, many will be hurt, and the rest will flee.
The swarms always move together, generally on the roofs or walls, and they are quite noisy, emmitting loud high pitched screeches, and they are easily distracted by the presence of other creatures, such as youngsters (food), or adult and elder darqueens (threats). They will not attack immediately, though, nor by surprise. They will first try to surround their prey, and identify the weakest individual, and the next turn they will all swarm and start attacking onw single individual.

- Baby: About the size of a small mutt and completely white, they have Mild Poison, Intensity 5. They are babies, they move in swarms of 5+D10 individuals. They usually prefer food that's already dead.
- Youngster: About the size of a mastiff, they are pale green. Paralyzing poison, Intensity 6. Lonely, because they killed and ate their lesser same-sex siblings.
- Adult: About the size of an ancient african lion, they are brown, and capable of mating. Lethal Poison, Intensity 7.
- Elder: 2,5 m high, the size of an ancient bull, they are pitch black. Lethal Poison, Intensity 8.
