The Conclave

Overview

The Conclave is a closed community of shamans and druids that worship life and death, growth and decay. They reside in Buried Grove, the district below Light Reach. While they mostly keep to themselves, the do provide a crucial service to the city: body disposal. With the upswing of the plague, and constant food shortages in certain districts, death is ever present in the city. Those who can't afford a Lunarchy last rites ceremony allow the Conclave to cart the bodies back to Buried Grove. Conclave collectors make rounds of neighborhoods very early in the mornings to cart back those left out for them. What they use the bodies for has been a subject of great rumor and debate, from using them as fertilizer to outright canibalizing them. The closeness and comfortability with death has given members of the conclave the nickname "Rots".

Organizational Structure

Not well understood by outsiders. They seem to have no class or rank structure within the conclave. There are rumors of a powerful leader but nothing confirmed.

Joining the Conclave

Proving your worth to the conclave is a slow process. They only take those who understand their way of life, and have a full appreciation of the cycle of life.
