Wizards Tower

A wizards tower located on the Island of Shelter. It was once the home of many wizards who arrived on ships through the fog, but have since met an untimely demise. 90 years ago, only ten years after landing on Shelter, all the wizards of the tower disappeared, save a few that happened to be on an outing at the time. Of those that survived, upon coming entering their home and finding none of their companions surviving, only one managed to escape.

In the background, about eight miles away, a large, silver, perfectly smooth, and unnatural dome shines in the sun.

Design

First Floor

Two huge stone doors greet you as you approach the entryway of the tower. Decorated with the designs traditional of humans.    You push the stone door open. Grinding on the floor, leaving a trail of dust and scratch marks, until you clear a path large enough for you to be able to pass. When you realize, there is another set of stone doors.   As you open the second set of stone doors, a blast of stagnant air blows past you. It is clear that no one has entered this tower in some time.   Once you get past the two sets of stone doors, you find a set of stairs that wind up in the center of the tower. Eight columns support the tower, the room walls lined with several empty wooden desks, chairs, and a few broken desks and chairs as well.

Second Floor

The stone stairs wind up to the second floor, where you see two rooms with the door closed in front of you, as well as two more closed doors - one to either side. As you wind your way around the room, you find a dining hall of sorts. A stovetop, table to prepare foods, as well as six sets of tables and chairs.   Despite that everything in the rooms you have encountered so far have clearly not been touched in years, the bath tub has water that appears to be clean and warm, with a faint fragrance of mint and lavender   The store rooms are filled with food that has rotten past the point of even smelling. Just piles of mildew and mold line the jars, barrels, and crates.

Third Floor

The stairs this time lead you to a hallway that winds in a circular direction to either side.   Once again you are greeted by a pair of closed, heavy stone doors.   This room appears to have been an area for study or research - but to what kinds you cannot say. Poles of bones line two corners of this room, more are on top of the work benches. What were the mages doing in this tower?

Fourth Floor

This room is clearly the library. Where the mages must have kept all the books that they brought along with them about the fog. Maybe they kept books about their research here as well?

Fifth Floor

Yet another pair of stone doors greet you on this floor; although these are smaller that the ones previously encountered and you are able to open them with only a little effort.   This room appears to have been the room of either a madman or a room that has been ransacked by others. Papers are strewn all over the floors, multiple small bookshelves line the walls to the right and left of the doorway. A desk and chair sit in the middle of the room and a comfortable looking large bed is directly across the doorway.

Sixth Floor

In front of you is a large dais of sorts, with an even higher platform - ladders on either side to get to the top - set on the farther ledge. What appears to be a globe, made of metal stands on top the podium.   The globe has carvings of Aevrela as wells as that of Shelter into the metal. A strange fog circles the continent of Aevrela, much like the actual Fog that prevents people from leaving Aevrela.

Architecture

This tower stands six stories tall, each floor slightly taller than the last.

The stonework that the tower is made out of was obviously crafted by magic. No tool marks mar the surface of the stones that compose the walls. No windows line the sides of the tower. Only a doorway mars the perfectly smooth stonework.
