Therian

Written by DinnBismarck

Basic Information

Anatomy

Tharians are the only pure decedents of human beings, and in their passive state look nearly unchanged. Roughly 40% of Tharians have a passive animal characteristic, these traits are most likely to strengthen and change further when the Tharian changes states.

Genetics and Reproduction

Therians reproduce the same as human beings.

Growth Rate & Stages

When a Therian is born it's body is exposed to the magic in the surrounding area, which has retained DNA imprints from other lifeforms, the first of which to be absorbed by the newborn is imprinted onto it, this processes is known as Prolithiatic Theriosis and is unavoidable due to the Tharian's unique genetics. Therian infants learn to crawl at 2-3 weeks and to walk at 10-11 weeks. By age 4 the animal DNA has fully integrated itself, and the young therian is now able to transform. Therian puberty begins at ages 10-11, and ends at ages 15-17.

Ecology and Habitats

Therians are an intelligent, sentient species that can survive in nearly any environment.

Dietary Needs and Habits

A Therian's dietary needs are different from person to person, as each person has different animal genetics.

Size Medium
Speed 30 ft. (reduced to 20 ft. in heay armor)

Sure Footed --- Tharians are unaffected by harsh terrain that would otherwise slow other races. (snow, mud, sand)
Alternative State --- Can take on bestial traits that alter the Therian's stats and/or abilities slightly for roughly 20 minutes every day. Traits can differ drastically between individual Therians, but stat changes can never equal more than a +3 bonus across all stats. Trait bonus's are chosen at the beginning of the game and can not be changed (at least not without special circumstances).
