Fishing
Give a man, teach a man...
Fishing, the art of catching fish, has it's own rules in Lunar Animus.
When fishing, you must roll a 3d8 to determine each fish you hook, with each result matching up with a fish from a 'Endemic pool chart'.
Once 'hooked', you must make a 'draw/capture' roll, unique to each fish on the chart based on their difficulty.
There are several ways to fish, depending on your character's preferences and skill-sets.
Rod Fishing
- Rod fishing requires a fishing rod (obviously)
- Your chance of landing the fish is influenced by your DEX modifier
- You gain a +1 modifier when fishing in deep or running water
Spear Fishing
- Spear fishing requires a (light weight) spear
- Your chance of landing the fish is influenced by your STR modifier
- You gain a +1 modifier when fishing in clear waters
Hand Fishing
- Your chance of landing the fish is influenced by your CON and NATURE modifiers
- You gain a +1 modifier when fishing in shallow water
Unique catches
Some if not most areas of the world, have 'unique' catches; fish, materials, or items that are only found in that location, and can often be more difficult to capture. A portion of these unique catches can only be caught once knowledge of the subject is gained, usually through local intel, thus adding their placement to the 'endemic pool' for those in the know.
