Basic Information

Anatomy

Djinn are highly intelligent, humanoid, draconidae. They have two legs, and two arms.

Biological Traits

Djinn have thin, tough skin that is naturally smooth. They have slight loose scaling around the shoulders, upper and lower back, elbows and knees, cheeks and nose. their skin is usually very dark blue in color.   Djinn have special gland-like organs embedded in their muscles and skin, 12 in their back, 3 in each arm, and 2 in each leg. These organs allow them to rapidly alter their own gravitational force in short bursts, allowing them to hover, glide, or slow their decent when falling; though the organs require time to build up the proper chemicals after each use. Genetics and Reproduction

Djinn are draconian and reproduce via Ovoviviparity. Djinn pregnancy lasts 11 months.

Growth Rate & Stages

Djinn learn to crawl at 4-5 months, and to walk at 8-9 months. Djinn begin puberty from ages 12-13 y/o, and ends between 16-17 y/o. Djinn can live up to 130-140 years when not hindered by disease or ailment.

Ecology and Habitats

Djinn are an intelligent, sentient species and can survive in any environment. That said, Djinn tend to prefer humid climates near water.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Djinn lack prominent molar teeth, instead relying on their incisors and 3 pairs of canine teeth to bite food into small enough chunks to swallow. Their main diet should consist of meat and fruit.

Biological Cycle

Djinn shed skin twice a year, on Larsi and Maha.   Young (ages 1-7) Djinn often chew on hard objects compulsively, this habit is usually taught out of them by their parents or teachers, as it can be bad for their teeth.

Djinn have small spiky ridges along the top of their ears, slight scaling on their cheeks and nose, lightly colored; reflective eyes with diagonally facing, slightly ovular pupils, and a clear; secondary pair of eyelids.

Magnetic Aura --- Once a day an Djinn can create a strong magnetic aura around themselves that lasts for 10 minutes. This aura can repel metal and allow the recipient to hover or even fly over gaps. effects are similar to a anti-gravity field, Djinn can still control their movement on a horizontal axis, but not vertical, requiring them to push off a surface to move up or down.  
Amphibius Eyes --- Djinn have a second pair of eyelids that allow them to see unhindered in murky water, dust storms, etc. This allows them to be immune to the Blind status ailment in such cases.
