Asura are commonly extroverted, headstrong, and are happy to see a challenge in the world around them. Asura love vibrant colors, strong smells, and tasty food.

Anatomy

Asura are intelligent, humanoid mammals. They have two legs, and can have anywhere between 2 and 6 arms.

Biological Traits

Asurans can regenerate and grow new limbs in extreme bursts, but which requires a large heft of their stamina to make (as well as extra body fat), up to a max of 6 arms. Asuran muscle contains high amounts of argon (A gas that has a very low freezing point and is highly nonreactive to heat), as well as a very low amount of water, allowing them to stand temperatures that would be damaging to other races. Their bones are made of a light, carbon mesh, and are resemble steel.

Asura give live births after a gestation period of 9 months.

Growth Rate & Stages

A newly born Asura is capable of rolling up into a ball when afraid, much like an armadillo, this defense mechanism is lost around the time the infant learns to walk on two legs. An Asuran infant learns to crawl at 2 months, and walk at 15-16 months. Asura puberty begins at ages 10-11, and ends at ages 15-17. Asure can live up to 85-90 years when not hindered by disease or ailment.

Ecology and Habitats

Asura are an intelligent, sentient species and can survive in any environment. Their chemical makeup allows them to survive even the harshest of temperatures. That said, Asura prefer rocky areas away from the ocean.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Asura are capable of eating nearly any material, from their normal dietary needs to bones and softer woods, even normally toxic or parasite ridden food, without a negative outcome. (This does not make such materials taste any better however.) Though they sometimes try, Asura can NOT eat rock, metal, hardwoods, plastic, or glass, and these materials will sit in an Asuran stomach for very long times and sometimes cause injury. Though Asura are omnivorous, they require a low protein/fat diet, requiring a diet of mostly(75%) vegetables and grain.

Facial characteristics

Asurans can have between 0-4 horns, usually under 3 inches in length, but have been known to grow up to 9-10 inches in rarer cases. Asuran noses are taller and wider than other race's, and their canine teeth are thick and (sometimes) long. Healthy Asuran teeth are stone grey, and hard enough to chew through bone.

Asuran relationships vary, but Asurans typically want one on two things from a partner: someone opposite who complements their own personality, or someone similar to themselves who they they can treat as a rival. Common Dress Code

Asura need to leave their sides open to the air, so that they can grow new arms in an emergency, so common wear include tank-tops, ponchos, or vests.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

At a young age (traditionally 12), Asurans will dislocate or break a finger, triggering their limb regeneration for the first time. If by accident their regeneration was activated earlier in life, the ceremonial act is decided on whether or not by the child once they reach 12, as it becomes unnecessary at that point.

Asura can easily grow stronger muscles. They are usually tall and muscular, but will quickly put on fat if they eat too much meat/oil.
