The Republic of Vanduo is one of the grand primordiae. The republic brings its origins from the city of Monsanto, eastern Vanduo. The nation sits in the middle of the Hatartan Peninsula occupying one of the largest areas of the entire region. Being home mostly to the mounish people, the Republic is, in fact, an extensively diverse state, harboring many races, and possessing a very liberal view on social and economic issues. Economic liberty is a very highly respected factor in the nation. It draws a certain amicable environment, where everyone is welcome, including some of the more shady individuals, which, in line with the economic freedoms it has, even attracts some illicit tradings through its black-markets.

The nation started to grow after the decay of Monsanto that led to its inevitable fall. In fact, Vanduo is more than just a successor of Monsanto but more of an evolved state of it. It is a fairly recent nation established by kilni merchants banded together to revive and outmatch the League of Merchants and set a line of protection from nearby tribes threatening their business. After Monsanto was suffering a major crisis in its business, other cities and merchants around the area started to get more opportunity in the market. Eventually the rich kilni merchants took over Monsanto, conquering it economically, aggregating a single network of commerce in the region, establishing thusly the Republic of Vanduo, which covers the whole area, with Monsanto as its first capital. Its modern-day capital is the city of Chelan, where the Magistrate and their family are set in.
