Hælan
The Green God (a.k.a. The Flower Kin, The Healer, The Youngling, The hunter, The Sicken Son, The Deccaying One, The Beautiful, Wild Savage, Bringer of Growth, Envy the Enemy, Old Green Eyes, The Poisonous, The Slaughtered Son)
"Hælan, the Green God, whose birth brought beauty to us, whose slaughter heals sickness, whose savagery matches any beasts. Please lend us your soul so that your light may shine"The prayer of Hælan, emblazoned on the front of The Law of the Porphorion Empire Vol. 3
The young God Hælan is possibly the most sympathetic of all The Six. During the The Travail Hælan was killed. The most common stories, such as that of the Bloodsgiving Myth, suggest that @Bord murdered him in a fit of Rage, or Anger. Others claim that, as the youngest of the Six he fell to The Darkness; whilst others yet claim that on seeing the terrors that the beasts he created for the world wrought on the fledgling races that he committed suicide by trying to fight The Titan King when in mortal form. Whatever the origin of his death, almost all stories agree that upon seeing the child God fall, Bord opened up his own veins, imbuing some of his life force into Hælan, allowing him to live once again. However this is imperfect, resulting in Hælan continually being reborn and slowly dying. This cycle of life that Hælan is trapped in is believed to be what brings around the spring and ultimately the winter.
When Hælan is depicted he is usually shown as a young child, in a simple green tunic. On his head he wears a crown of ivy and mistletoe (the red berries symbolising the blood spilled by Bord to give him new life). Arround his arm curls his snake familiar Hectros, and he often clutches a Bow or a sickle. Often he is surrounded by creatures and beasts, as in the Travail he supposedly created all beasts that now wonder the planes, as well as flowers and trees. Sometimes he is shown as healthy and happy, others he is shown as sickly, skeletal, and close to death.
