Conquest
Domitus (a.k.a. The Conqueror)
One of The Four Horsemen, widely associated with Conquest and Spring. Said to arrive first when the end of the world is nigh to bring a demand for surrender.
Divine Domains
Conquest appears wherever he is needed, much like the other Horsemen. It's popular superstition that a despotic ruler or great conqueror will have an aspect of Conquest (Domitus) acting as their adviser. This can either be an avatar or reincarnation, but the most popular modern depictions show the Conqueror himself at their left shoulder.
In some satirical works, he fulfils the same function as the Devil, coaxing otherwise good-willed humanity into foul deeds so the Horsemen can finally descend.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Though Conquest has many symbols, he is most known for his standard. This summons the Four Horsemen to the mortal plane. When he first arrives, it's a pure white with golden tassels. Once the land has been claimed on behalf of the Horsemen, Conquest drives the pole into the ground and the standard is soaked blood red. This is said to come from the blood of sinners and people who fought them in combat.
Tenets of Faith
Conquest's innate belief about mortals is that they are intellectually inferior. To this end, it is his duty to descend to the mortal world and teach them how to behave and advance. He seeks to control humanity and bring them under his rule to avoid the Apocalypse from truly happening.
Holidays
His period of worship is mostly in the spring, the season he is most widely associated with. The spirit behind these celebrations is to get him to leave rather than mere idolatry.
On the 18th of Thawforth, people gather at the entrances of their towns and villages to throw salt, seeds or beans. During this, the mayor reads aloud a long list of reasons why Conquest shouldn't enter their town. On the 19th, they throw seeds, salt or beans out the doors of their houses whilst the head of the household announces reasons why Conquest isn't welcome in their house.
Once they've discouraged Conquest from visiting, there are joyous celebrations. On the 20th of Thawforth (the Spring Equinox), the people hang flags from their windows. These can be the national flag, the crest of their ruling noble or family, and many more besides. To Camelan communities, heraldry and flags are especially important, with the more displayed the better. It symbolises how they've taken their homes from the jaws of despair.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Conquest's function is to lead The Four Horsemen to Poraile when the time is right. When summoned, Conquest establishes a foothold from which the other Horsemen can invade the land and thus return it to its original state.
Despite this being his primary objective, he will keep mortals and the world from destruction if they acknowledge him as their true leader. Through this, he would conquer the world without need for the other Horsemen to arrive, thus preserving another world for his Divine Empire.
