Mabel Castor

Culinary enthusiast turned adventurer and author of  "Mabel Castor's Guide to Culinary Ingredients, Where to Find Them , and How to Use Them" is one of the for most experts on regional and cultural cuisines.   Her love of adventure stems first and for most from her love of food and began the day she got went to the local market and realized now that her children were grown and had left the house that she was board, unequivocally board,  board of being home alone, board of her routine, and board of working with the same ingredients. So she went to her house through together a small case of luggage and went to visit a friend of hers in the next town over to compare ingredients and techniques, after that visit she decided to continue on and visit an old friend of her late husbands who had recently retired. On her way to this destination she encountered a young traveling merchant heading for a nearby town with a selection of herbs and spices from much farther out in the wilds. One of the items that caught her eye was a selection of brightly colored peppers. When asked about them the man said that the were wedding peppers regularly used by the diminutive Ouphe species. According to Mabel that was the exact moment she realized she had to learn more.   Upon arriving back at home she carefully planned, packed, and prepared for her grand adventure. From there the rest is history. She traveled all over the world tasting, observing, location, and most importantly documenting her travels into a culinary guide so extensive in its precise focus that every one from day trippers to seasoned explorers, and adventures seek out copies to better understand where and what to eat in almost every location. The book does exactly what its title says but also includes notes about the culture it comes from, potential ingredient substitutions, potential hazards if improperly prepared, and Mabel's own thoughts on the ingredients and dishes.   Despite or perhaps because of her books success rumors have begun to circulate that Mabel is quietly gathering together a small group of explores, academics, and adventures in preparation for another grand culinary adventure to gather more recipes and information for her next book. The working title for this book is presumed to be "Mabel Castor's Guide to Culinary Ingredients, Where to Find Them , and How to Use Them. Volume 2"
