Fallarbor town

The historic home of the Draconids, Fallarbor used to be a dense and lush forest - only for it to be wiped into a dusty town by Groudon. Today, it remains in this state, but it still holds up as the primary location of most of the Draconids left.   *Pokeau's Fallarbor is very heavily based off of the real life city of Swift Current, Saskatchewan! It's a place that holds very dear to my heart.

Demographics

The population of Fallarbor is mostly elderly, and those who aren't elders are mostly either family members, caretakers, or Devon workers. Out of all the towns and cities in the world, Fallarbor is home to the largest remaining population of ethnic Draconids, but that's not saying a lot. There's like, 200 of them.

Industry & Trade

Most people work at their family's stores or at chains, or sell produced farmed just outside of the city. Then there's... Devon. The Devon corporation fought a quite literally bloody battle to extend to Fallarbor due to its proximity to both Meteor Falls and Mt. Chimney, and most of the younger population are those working for Devon. Devon's main operation in Fallarbor is factory work and excavation.

Infrastructure

Fallarbor can be considered very 'dated', with most buildings being from 60 years ago and new ones rarely being built. The newest buildings are Devon buildings, but those only really function for use within the company. Sidewalks can be quite cracked and it's not uncommon you'll see someone repairing something.

Assets

Fallarbor is home to mostly small, family-owned stores, though larger chains do exist on the edges of the town. The biggest asset the town has is Devon's presence, since it's like, a huge company and all. The town is also home to a fair amount of craters from meteors, though almost all of them have been investigated by now.

History

Before Groudon's wrath, Fallarbor was a dense forest town and the capital of Draconid society. It was very large, and despite being remotely located, was usually bustling. But after Groudon sent the forest underground, the town became a dusty prairie and was quite prone to meteors.   Thousands of years have passed since then and the people of Fallarbor have rebuilt, but it's not quite the same, especially with the decline of the Draconids. The Devon corporation had interest in the area but their CEO and his family line wasn't trusted by the residents, preventing the company from setting itself down in the area. Though after a fight broke out between the CEO's sons and some residents which left multiple dead, Devon swore to back out of the region... for like a year. With the community damaged by the fight and the economy not doing great, Devon took advantage of the situation and extended the company to Fallarbor.

Architecture

Buildings in Fallarbor are very reminiscent of those in prairie towns; dated, and a bit dusty.

Geography

After Groudon's destruction, the town obtained a prairie like landscape, and overall became very dry, dusty, and flat. It's located right next to Meteor Falls.

Natural Resources

Since Fallarbor was hit by meteors due to it's flatness and proximity to Meteor Falls, fragments and minrerals from the meteors can be found by searching through the ground. Due to it being location at the base of Mt. Chimney as well, geothermal power is a very important resource capitalized on by Devon.
