Due to her training in the entertainment industry, Jaekyung is a fairly competent dancer and actor. While these things normally do not factor into her work with the band and usually her solo promotions, she is also also an accomplished singer and pianist.

Lee Jaekyung was born the second child to a couple who run a small restaurant in Busan, Jaekyung was always a spitfire of a child who had a flair for showing off. After seeing her older brother Sunjae succeeding (for a short time, at least) within the field of music and entertainment, she wanted to try her hand at it as well.
She taught herself how to dance and her family was surprised to find that she had a natural gift for it. After competing in a junior dance competition he was scouted by a major entertainment company in Seoul – Jaekyung, who was 10 at the time of her scouting, beg and pleaded her parents to let her take the offer. They eventually let her – she always got her way in the end.
So Jaekyung spent about 5 years training with a group of 10 or so girls at the company, and she was among the youngest in the group. Some time in the middle of her trainee years, more of the younger girls would drop out, leaving Jaekyung as the youngest of the group. It remained this way up until around their debut, when Jaekyung was nearing 16 years old.
Right before debut, though, Jaekyung was cut from the debut group for then-unknown reasons and had to go home. Shortly after returning home, Jaekyung threw herself into her studies, teaching herself how to play piano and becoming fairly proficient in her playing, to the point where she was spotted once again for her talents – this time by a woman who was aiming to put together a backing band for her daughter in America.
Her parents saw more promise in the new offer, as it gave Jaekyung the opportunity to study abroad. So from the time she was 15 up until 20, she was a keyboardist to this young girl’s band (playing alongside Deryl on the bass)
In recent years, when the band went through restructuring, she was able to take on more roles in the band, not only as a pianist but also as a vocalist
In an attempt to generate more publicity for the group overseas, Jaekyung started doing promotions in her home country of South Korea – often appearing as a vocalist in duets, as well as modeling and acting.
