Were-Shark Species & culture

Few Creatures are afflicted with this curse/disease, but those that do often gain a strong ferocity and love for power. As the curse manifests in the body there host manifests symptoms unique to each, but it is common to find a hunger deep inside themselves: for food, or meat specifically, for war, for pleasure, or even for one's own ideas to be fulfilled. The symptoms include heightened strength and the ability to breath underwater and above water for a limited time.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

During a high tide, the shark's will is stronger and the hunger felt intensifies. As Low tide approaches, the shark loses its will to hunt and desires to rest.

Dietary Needs and Habits

consumption of 10% of its body mass in food daily.

Naming Traditions

Generally, the firstborn (of each gender) is given the same name as the father/mother out of respect. They go by a nickname until they come of age.

Gender Ideals

They hold women in a higher reguard as they are able to better control their hunger. Letting them plan their military forces. There is still a patriarchy.

Relationship Ideals

They mate early in life usually deciding within a year of coming to age, and mate for life. If a partner dies it is customary to wait 10 years before seeking a new mate.

Common Etiquette Rules

Allow strangers that are in need of aid to remain in their house for a maximum of 5 days.

Common Dress Code

Generally, in the were-shark form, they wear enough to cover modesty, though much more would hinder their movement.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

There is a coming of age ceremony during the Summer Solstice's High tide after the Males turn 14 and the females turn 13.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

They observe the Solstices and Equinox's as holy days

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

They do partake in the occasional trade with other humanoids, but they do so without revealing what they really are. They even trade with other were creatures if they are williing.
