Pilea

Pilea is a world once barren and rife with war. Opposing factions tore the face of the world apart trying to extinguish their foes, unintentionally exposing its core and releasing the heart of Pilea. Angered, and fearing for its existence, Pilea's broken heart consumed the leaders of each faction; taking over their bodies by ripping their souls from their flesh. Using the the soulless vessel, Pilea created the physical embodiment of Gods. Their sole purpose was to protect Pilea, and restore it to the beautiful terrain-scape it once was.   The Gods used their powers to deceive the warring factions, and restore peace to Pilea's peoples. They spent the next 100 years repairing the as much as they could before deciding that no more could be done to save Pilea while it was inhabited by peoples who needed more from the land than it could provide. With Pilea's seas dried up, its forests burned or harvested for weapons, and its mountains ground away to create fortifications; the Gods eradicated all life on Pilea to start anew. They ravaged the planet with plague, unyielding acid rains, and choking gasses. Then each God planted a seed from their soul into Pilea, and retired into slumber allowing Pilea to heal at its own pace.   Pilea recovered quite resoundingly over the next 1,000 years. Life began to blossom again, the seas filled the canyons, mountains rose from the ruble, and its skies cleared. The peoples of Pilea returned as well, and with them awoke the gods. Then the Gods reached out to the peoples of Pilea, and assisted them in starting cities, developing culture and ideals. This lasted for a short time, before they retreated away to their corners of the world, ever watching from a distance.   A few thousand years have passed, and Pilea is now bustling with life
