The Eye of the Serpent

A Dungeons & Dragons 5e game In the world of Pilea
| Full
1,200 years ago there was a sea captain named Captain Krieg Barlow. He was known throughout all of the four kingdoms for being the most ruthless of sea dogs and the most feared soul on the sea other than the great sea herself. There are many rumors surrounding the life of Captain Krieg Barlow, most of which will never be known truth or false. However, for the men and women that called Barlow “Captain”, these weren’t just stories of myth and legend. They were the tales of their lives, memories of past ventures into the deep and deserted waters that none dared to tread. For their fealty they were rewarded with treasures immeasurable by the greed of man. Jewels that could never be kept behind lock and key. Palaces so vast, that they never again left it’s wealth of walls. Since the unexplained disappearance of Captain Krieg Barlow and his crew, many have tried to relive his glory and find his life's wealth. It is rumored to be on a hidden isle somewhere in the heart of the Great Sea. It’s location known only by the Captain and the Sea herself. Many artifacts have surfaced in the years, clues pointing any would-be adventurer in the right direction. A challenge to the worthy, should they be vile enough, tenacious enough, or foolish enough to journey where so few have been. The Sea offers a promise of great wealth or a quick death. It is now believed that any singular crew who could gather the five relics of the great Captain Krieg Barlow could use them together to retrace his path to the rumored secret isle that awaits with a nonpareil trove of treasure. According to a legend scribed on a scroll, Captain Krieg Barlow left all five relics in different corners of the world, in hopes that one day a worthy soul would sail into the abyss and brave the high seas to find rewards known only by a legend and his gods.
