Children of the Moon

Amongst the swirling mist, the children of the moon live in peace and freedom, without fear. They raise their voices in howls of joy, instead of pain and anguish, as is common with mainlander werewolves. Pilgrims are common visitors all days of the month but one, unless they harbour a secret desire to join them- or perish.

Anatomy

Phantasian werewolves look much like regular wolves, only they tend to measure between 1.40-1.70 metres at the withers. Just like common wolves, they have four limbs, not counting their long sweeping tails. The muscular and skeletal structure is also much the same, only more robust as it is magically enhanced, thus making them more powerful.

Genetics and Reproduction

A werewolf is created either by two werewolf parents conceiving, or more commonly a humanoid is bitten by a werewolf. During the next full moon, the person is transformed and will be doing so for the remainder of their life, unless they remove the curse by magical means. A naturally born werewolf is carried in its mother's womb for 9 months and born as whatever humanoid its parents are when not in wolf form.

Dietary Needs and Habits

When in humanoid form, the werewolves eat whatever the rest of the population eats, though usually a lot more red meat.

Facial characteristics

While in wolf form, the way to tell the werewolves apart is their disturbingly human eyes and extraordinarily large teeth.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

The largest known pack resides on the Isles of the Moon, though stray howls can be heard throughout the Eythimork on the nights of full moons.

On par with most humanoid races.

Excellent darkvision, hearing and a canine sense of smell.

Naming Traditions

Same as whatever settlement they hail from.

Major Organizations

The Cult of The Moon Goddess oversees the pack, and control the religious transformations. Politically the werewolves govern themselves, and so do not typically follow all of Phantasia's laws.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Fur colour ranges from white, to black, though the most common is a tawny grey or brown. There is one known copper coloured werewolf. Tattoos made by magicians turn up as markings on their fur. This has led to several embarrassing and hilarious episodes.
