Accomplishments & Achievements
At the time when Yorcrath was developing his skills as a bard and story teller, the Dragonborn Empire was bearing the costs of a failing campaign to take control of various settlements on the mainland. The bards who were members of the imperial court told stories of great heroism, noble sacrifice and a future continent-wide Dragonborn Empire. Yorcrath had the talent and was making the connections that would one day allow him to join the court, but he was free from expectations to stick to the existing narratives.
Yorcrath considered that maybe it would be better for the Dragonborn to support the nascent Human groupings and to trade with them, rather than try to conquer and subdue them. He applied to travel across the continent and was granted permission, with an expectation that it would have value as an intelligence gathering mission.
When he returned, he took a position in the Imperial Court on the basis of the insight he now had regarding the "enemies" of the empire. Instead, Yorcrath began to present stories that showed the leaders of the Empire the things that they had in common with the other speaking people of the continent.
Yorcrath read deeply through the history of the founding of the Empire and began to create performances that focused on particular elements of Orlad's declaration. His poems, plays and songs emphasised:

- That the claim to the Empire's territory only reached as far as the neck of the peninsular
- The claim was based firstly on it being uninhabitable beforehand (due to extra-planar assailants)
- The claim was based secondly on the work that Orlad and his people had done in removing the extra-planar assalants
- The purpose of the Empire was to guide the people to greater prestige here, not to spread out elsewhere
