If you stare at them, long and hard, and really try to see if they're blue or purple or anything, you'll notice that you can't tell what colour they are. She was given her name because of the dark hue of her eyes, compared to her father's, who were lighter. This chromatic dysphoria is actually caused by an EIEIO present in all of the .

Savvies & Ineptitudes
Very good at everything. Yea, that's right, bitches! Bet you thought I could write a strong, female protagonist with genuine flaws and who had actual character depth rather than simply being good at everything and being well-liked by everyone they encounter, huh?
No, but, for real, she's not strong. Physically, I mean. I haven't written the book yet but I'll probably include a scene where she is violently battered just to hammer this home. Other than that, her hubris is fucking mega. Her self-preservation skills are absolutely nothing and her lack of a father figure means she doesn't have penis envy, isn't that right, Sigmund? God, we just need to dig Freud back up, resurrect him, and dip him slowly into a volcano a few hundred times.
Violet's a savvy talker, an intellectual and a cunning strategist. She's got the swagger (funny word for 'confidence') to boot. Speaking of boots, she's quite traditionally attractive, objectively speaking. Not to sound like a simp but there are a number of people after her heart. For now though, her heart belongs to the seas and the great adventures that await her.
