Session 2 Outline

After accepting the first quest in Session 1 and getting introduced to the case at hand. The players find themselves again in the Floating City after successfully defeating some bandits that were threatening a Kobold. If the players decide to talk to the small creature, it will tell them quite some tale of how science assistant from the upper levels managed to make his way down here.

Plot points/Scenes

  • They meet the kobold Retui
  • He tells them that he is a science apprentice in one of the biggest kobold science guilds in the Flying City The Flying City
  • The Dr. managed to talk to one of the dead bandits with his basic necromancy skills
  • He tells him that he was hired by a kobold to get rid of Retui
  • After that Retui reluctantly tells them that he lost something important in the lower districts
  • The player manage to connect that he is talking about the machine with the blue eyes that broke into the warehouse
  • Retui hires them to retrieve his contraption with him for 1 gold each
  • He thinks that it will be brought of the island through the docks
  • On the way there they meet Gustav, a hobbit, who was just picking a lock to someones house.
  • He convinces the other players that it is, his own house and decides to help them on their quest
  • At the docks Uwe talks to on of the workers, who are still off loading wares from the ships
  • They tell him of a ship called "The Flying Gecko", who is known for black market trading and doing stuff off record.
  • But also of the foreman, who keeps record of all the ships who dock on his side.
  • The group splits into Uwe, Iftan, Geebus and Retui , who go to the foreman
  • and Gustav and the Dr. going to investigate "The Flying Gecko"
  • At the foreman the group learns that the dock is currently low on guards
  • that they therefore ask every shipowner and captain to place their own guards on the ship
  • Uwe also learns that it would not be difficult to steer a small ship alone for one individual
  • Meanwhile the other two walk to the "The Flying Gecko"
  • On the way they hear a creaking near one of the small ships
  • The Dr. manages to take the head of a street lantern and investigates further with Gustav
  • There they find that one of the moorings is loose
  • Gustav sneaks on the deck but finds nothing else but the main sail loose
  • He and the Dr. moor the ship again
  • The Dr. walks on deck with the lantern, when machine with the blue eyes drops in from above
  • They both see a humanoid looking contraption, who has a blue glow all over his body
  • It does not attack them, but does not seem friendly either
  • The rest of the party arrives after walking back
  • At the site of Retui the machine fixates on him
  • The kobold manages to deactivate it
  • The find the stolen magic batteries in the hold of the ship
  • Gustav steals one without anyone noticing it
  • Retui tells them that the machine began to develop something like a conscience after powering it with magic
  • It has an intelligence equal to that of an animal and felt frightened, so it broke out
  • But he can't go back to the guild, because he thinks they are who want his death
  • so he persuades the players to help him out once more in exchange for payment
  • they agree to hide him and the machine for 3 days at the new home of Gustav for 5 gold each
  • they also plan to return the magic batteries to their owner

    At the end of session 1 the party defeated a band of bandits, who are lying dead in the ally at the beginning of session 2
