The Imperial Highness of All Kingdoms

Appointment

There are a number of Kingdoms which each have a seat in the Imperial House. When an election is called, each kingdom appoints one candidate through whatever means they wish. Then, each seat votes for their preferred candidate. (You can not vote for your own.)

Duties

To authorize the protection of the innocent and just, and maintain peace and prosperity for all realms.

Type

Civic, Honorific

Status

Still in effect, counts as head of government and head of state, of all kingdoms.

Equates to

Holy Roman Emperor, or British Emperor of the Commonwealth.

Source of Authority

The Emperor has their authority based on an effective coalition against any kingdom who is a threat. Effectively a military deadlock.

Length of Term

The Emperor reigns for 20 years, or until they pass away. Then a new election begins.
