Talons of the Wyrm

The Talons of the Wyrm are the official church dedicated to the Dragon Gods. The ruling council is made up of the eldest dragons, one of each color, still alive. This council also rules the Drakkareach, a nation ruled by dragons and one of the only nations still free from the Iron Legion 's rule, due largely to the concentration of dragons of all types and ages within.   Hierophants of the religion are responsible for overseeing the activities of followers in each nation, In nations made up of mostly humanoids, these Hierophants always have draconic blood, leading to many of the Hierophants being sorcerers of the draconic bloodline or, more rarely, kobolds. Below the hierophants are the lay priests, called Scaletenders. They are protected by Knights Draconus, clerics and champions of various stripes who dedicate themselves to one of the Dragon Gods, but often work together even if their draconic patrons do not.   Temples of the Wyrm are large affairs, often the largest temples in a city. Temples always have an open central courtyard, large enough for an great wyrm to land and speak with its followers, though this rarely happens. Each Temple of the Wyrm has a shrine to each of the dragon gods where adherents can offer prayer. Only larger cities have Temples of the Wyrm. Smaller settlements and individual homes often have a single simple shrine, perhaps tended by a Scaletender or two, where prayers can be offered to all of the Dragon Gods.
